Sitting in a circle ...

a big hello . . . to all . . . family and friends . . .

we are completing our 3rd year . . . sailing lake calhoun . . .

we learned a lot of new sailing skills . . .

we passed on what we have learned . . . to newcomers . . .



UPDATE Nr. 1 Sitting in a Circle

on Saturday, October 17th 2009 . . . at 9:00 am . . .
and every Saturday after that until about april 2010

you do NOT need a reason:
if you are absent . . .
if you are late . . .
if you leave early

we are starting our 2nd year . . . sitting in a circle . . . at a new place . . .
where we are about to learn:

new sharing skills . . . new listening skills . . .

New Location:

this year . . . each of our events . . . will start out:

with . . . some soft music and/or song . . .
from any participant sitting in a circle . . .

then . . . after a little pause . . . after a little stillness . . .
someone will share . . .

and we . . . will just . . . listen . . .

then . . . after a pause . . . after a little stillness . . .
someone will play softly again . . . and/or sing a song . . .

then . . . someone else will share . . .

and again . . . we will just . . . listen . . .

we will continue:
to share . . . to listen . . .
.

and . . .
that is all we do . . . during . . . our 3 hour program:
sharing . . . listening . . .
with soft music and/or singing between sharing




and here is . . . what we do NOT do
when a person is sharing
when a person is done sharing:

interrupt
ask questions

answer questions
offer solutions

make comments
discuss

do brainstorming
do therapy

jump in to fix problems




this year . . . each of our events . . . will conclude:
with . . . some soft music and/or songs . . .
that we all can sing along

to celebrate with joy and enthusiasm
our new sharing and listening skills . . .




after the event . . . at about 12 pm . . .
we will have time . . .
to introduce ourselves to newcomers . . .
to talk . . . to visit . . . to relate
to eat together . . . please bring your own lunch
and to make announcements etc



for our afternoon events
from 1 pm to 4 pm
we are still in the process of reserving time at the church
or at a place nearby

some people have indicated in the past
to host an event at their home
for the afternoon . . . for a given Saturday . . .

Hello Fans of Sailing Lake Calhoun,

50 Years ago ... on August 15th 1959 ...
Werner arrived on the shores of America.

Werner will be turning a young age of 70 on Sept 4th (Friday).

We will be sharing... a special day next Saturday Sept 5th,
(even more special than most)
to celebrate with Werner!

Please come to Lake Calhoun....
free street parking is along the east side of the lake,
and many side streets in the neighborhood ... ... ...

you will find us having a picnic gathering and would like you to join us.

We will be gathering near the sailing dock,
just south of the Sailing School around noon.

Please bring your children to play games ...
please bring your musical instruments ...
sing along ... ... ...

and ... please bring whatever you will be eating/drinking.

If you can not make it at the time,
please come later in the day ...
to share ... to sing ... to listen ... and ... to celebrate with everyone!

If not...keep in mind.....in the words of Werner .....

"it just doesn't get any better than this"....
